By Cee Cee: About Us

In February 2011 we made our first tutus as a gift for the girls in our playgroup. Who would have thought such a little project would evolve into a full blown business for two moms within 8 months. By the end of our first year we had added applique items, hair accessories, aprons, boutique dresses and skirts and even some items for boys. We look forward to expanding our product line and continuing to send a little whimsy your way!

When I was little my grandmother made much of my clothing, especially for special occasions. I remember the feeling of fascination when I saw fabric pieces and those mysterious patterns become something I could wear.

I learned to sew in Middle school and practiced over the summer while visting my aunt- we made a lot of drawstring bags and scrunchies.

While in college for Interior Design, I took several textile electives including quilting and was hooked. I loved searching for fabrics and using them in unexpected combinations.

After many years off, I jumped back into the world of quilting while pregnant. After the birth of my daughter I wanted to make unique items for her. With a push from my friend Elizabeth and support from our wonderful moms group- we jumped and created By Cee Cee.

Both of  my grandmothers are excellent seamstresses and made several special occasion dresses for me through the years!  About 10 years ago, I bought my first sewing machine and figured it all out starting with curtains and bags!

I really like working with ribbon as much as fabric.  I like figuring out how to twist and glue and tie it so that a nice "fluffy," super cute bow comes out perfectly.  You will often find me trying to
figure out how to incorporate ribbon ruffles or ribbon sculpture designs onto my skirts, shirts and dresses.

Being a military spouse you find your self in the midst of new people and surroundings all the time.  I met Candi through a mom's group and thought, "We can do this no matter
where I end up!"  It's been a fun venture and a way to stay connected even though we live more than 500 miles apart
